Services & Facilities

Bohol Medical Care Institute offers the following services:

Laboratory - Clinical Laboratory Testing plays a crucial role in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. Clinical laboratory personnel examine and analyze fluids, tissues and cells. They look for bacteria, parasites and other microorganisms, analyze the chemical content of fluids, match blood for transfusion, and test for drug levels in the blood to show how a patient is responding to treatment.

Procedures Available....

X-RAY - technology uses electromagnetic radiation to make images. The image is recorded on a film, called a radiograph. The parts of your body appear light or dark due to the different rates that your tissues absorb the X-rays. Calcium in bones absorbs X-rays the most, so bones look white on the radiograph. Fat and other soft tissues absorb less, and look gray. Air absorbs least, so lungs look black.

MAMMOGRAPHY - Mammography is the universally-acknowledged screening tool for diagnosis of breast diseases in women, which uses a special type of x-ray.. Research shows that annual conduct of the procedure leads to early detection of breast cancers when they are at their most curable stage.

ULTRASOUND - is a medical technique that uses sound waves to study and treat hard-to-reach areas. In scanning with ultrasound, high frequency sound waves are transmitted to the area of interest and the returning echoes recorded. Ultrasound is non-invasive, involves no radiation, and avoids possible hazards – such as bleeding, infection, or reaction to chemicals of other diagnostic methods.

Procedures Available....

HEMODIALYSIS - Hemodialysis is a medical procedure that uses a special machine (a dialysis machine) to filter waste products from the blood and to restore normal constituents to it. This shuffling of multiple substances is accomplished by virtue of the differences in the rates of their diffusion through a semipermeable membrane (a dialysis membrane).

Although hemodialysis may be done for acute kidney failure, it is more often employed for chronic renal disease.

AMBULATORY SURGICAL FACILITY - Ambulatory Surgical Clinic (ASC) means a facility which operates exclusively for the purpose of providing surgical services to patients not requiring hospitalization. It refers to any institution or building or part of a building devoted primarily to the maintenance and operation of facilities for the performance of surgical procedures which shall not require lodging or accommodation of patients for a period exceeding 12 hours.

ONSITE SERVICE - BMCI performs on-site services for companies, local government units or groups no less than 40 persons, particularly on their Annual Physical Examination. It sends its competent medical team to conduct procedures at the clients’ venue of choice.

Results may be released 2 to 3 days from conduct of service, assuring promptness, reliability and confidentiality.
